Smoked salmon and goat cheese may seem like an unusual combination, but I’m telling ya.. these two ingredients are meant to be! They go together like bacon and eggs, like peanut butter and jelly, like cheese and wine, like strawberries and chocolate.. you get the point. Once you try this combo you’ll never again go back to making an ordinary quiche! The rich goat cheese, smoked salmon, fresh dille and delicious leek are just a lovely combo in this heavenly quiche recipe. Even if you are serving just two, the leftovers are perfect for lunch!
I was feeling a little lazy and was looking for a quick and easy dish to make. So I used a store bought frozen pie dough, but to be honest, it turned out perfect! Of course, if you’re feeling a little bit more determined, you could easily make your own! I defrosted the pie dough for just a few minutes on the kitchen counter while I prepared the rest of the ingredients. I roughly chopped 100 grams of salmon, a handful of dille, 180 grams of goat cheese, 2 leeks and 2 cloves of garlic. I sautéed the leek and garlic in a pan with some salt and pepper, until the leek became soft. In a separate bowl I lightly whisked 6 eggs with a generous splash of cream.
I coated the springform pan in some olive oil and evenly spread out the pie crust dough in the springform. I then poured in a little bit of the egg mixture and added in the leek, salmon, dille and most of the goat cheese. I then poured in the rest of the egg mixture and topped it with the rest of the goat cheese. And that’s pretty much it! After baking this quiche in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees celsius for about 45 – 55 minutes.. dinner is served!
This quiche was heaven on Earth. All the flavors were just perfect together. The ingredient combination may seem like a little uncommon at first, but I promise.. you certainly will not regret trying this scrumptious quiche recipe! Besides, goat cheese and smoked salmon is pretty much like cream cheese and smoked salmon, except about a 100x (better if you ask me). It’s simply divine.
