As you guys know, we’re huge camembert fans and meat lovers.. and what can be better than combining these two beauties in one lovely ciabatta steak sandwich. We spiced things up a little with some horseradish mayo and balanced this out with some sweet caramelized onions and mushrooms. These steak sandwiches are to die for!
○ 250g ribeye steak ○ 100g sliced mushrooms ○ 1 sliced onion ○ 100g camembert ○ 2 tablespoons horseradish paste ○ 2 tablespoons balsamico ○ 2 tablespoons mayonnaise ○ 2 ciabatta buns ○ salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees celsius. Toast the bread, and in the last minute add slices of camembert to the buns and place it back in the oven. Fry the onions and mushrooms until soft, add the balsamico to sweeten it up and fry it for a few more minutes. Generously season the steak with salt and pepper. Fry the steak on each side for two to three minutes (the medium-rare way or the highway). Remove from the pan, and let the steak rest for three minutes. Meanwhile, mix the horseradish paste with the mayonnaise, and spread this on one side of the bun. Now thinly slice the steak. Top the buns with the caramelized mushrooms and onions, followed by the steak slices. And dinner is served!
