It’s been a while since we’ve posted a “dessert” recipe on our blog, and in all honesty, this recipe is so easy you can hardly call it a recipe. But if you’re craving something sweet, and quick and easy to make, this blog post will serve as some great foodspiration. We’re all about snacks that combine sweet and salty flavors.. in fact.. we’ve recently gone so far that we’ve been sprinkling some sea salt on our chocolate. It sounds crazy.. we know… but it’s great and we promise.. you need to try it! Anyway this sweet n’salty, caramelized and chocolate covered popcorn with crunchy pretzels is delicious and is the perfect all-out movie snack!
○ 200g milk or dark chocolate ○ popcorn ○ 1 large handful of pretzels sticks ○ 100ml cream ○ 50g butter ○ 100g sugar ○ 1 tablespoon sugar
Make the butter popcorn how you normally would, either in a pan or in the microwave. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt the chocolate. Be careful not to burn the chocolate. Roughly chop the pretzel sticks. Mix the pretzel sticks and the chocolate through the popcorn in a large bowl. Now get ready to make the caramel. Melt the butter in the pan. Once the butter melted add the sugar, and let the sugar melt. Slowly start to add the cream. Don’t set the heat to high and be patient for the sugar to melt completely. Once it has turned into caramel, remove from heat and quickly mix it through the popcorn. It’s the tastiest when you are patient enough and let the caramel and chocolate harden! Popcorn will never be the same again! This popcorn is to die for!!
